Ross Kemp reveals he was held captive for 12 hours in Libya while filming his latest documentary

 

He was filming in Sabha, which is south of Tripoli, as part of a programme looking into the country’s vast smuggling and human trafficking network.

 

Kemp told the Daily Mirror that it was one of the “best” but “most dangerous” filming experiences he had ever encountered.

 

He added that at one point the film crew were asked to leave.

Kemp said: “We had a number of people outside the building we were in with weapons. And the tribe that we were with had to defend is because this other clan wanted to take us.

“There was a stand-off for about 12 hours. while filming his latest documentary.

“We nearly had to be lifted out.”

 

The shoot was part of Kemp’s latest series of his Sky show, Ross Kemp: Extreme Work, which returns on February 21.
