Armed police arrested Watford boy, 14 for Knife Threats and Robbery

On Monday evening Police and a Holicopter searched after a report of an attempted burglary, and threat to groups around North Watford.

Armed officers and the police helicopter tracked down a 14-year-old boy and was arrested.

First incident: At approximately 7pm on Monday 26th, a 14-year-old boy and two friends were at Goodwood Recreation Ground, off courtlands drive.

They were approached by a number of teenage boys and the 14-year-old was allegedly threatened with violence f he did not hand over his hat and iPhone.

Second incident:  At approximately  7.45pm at the Harebreaks Recreation ground just around the other side of courtlands road, the boy threatened  two men in their twenties to hand over money.   A fight ensued in which the victims sustained cuts and bruises.

A flick knife was produced making the two victims to leave the area. Nothing was stolen from them.

Detective Inspector Jason Finnegan said: “A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with both incidents, which we are currently treating as linked. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

“I understand that news of these incidents will be worrying for the local community, but I would like to reassure them that we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“The victims are being supported by our officers and we are doing all we can to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
