Watford High Street was closed as police carried an investigation after a pedestrian had gone under the wheels of a Large DAF Skip Lorry.

 

Herts police have confirmed that a woman in her 50s, has sadly died due to the collision just before 1.10pm today.

 

Her family are aware and are being supported by specially-trained officers. (Funeral)

 

Watford High Street has now been re-opened following this afternoon's fatal collision.

Police advise anyone travelling in the town area this evening to allow extra time for the traffic congestion.

one witness reportedly saw a large pool of blood and another saw a workman on the phone in tears.

 

 

The incident happened between the junction of Church Street and Market Street.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly before 1.10pm on Monday, March 12 to report a road traffic collision in High Street, Watford, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

 

We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Watford High Street, and there are road closures in place between the junctions of Church Street and Market Street. These are likely to be in place for some time so please avoid the area. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/N7nyWRHiMj
