Woman dies in Watford High Street after Skip Lorry collided with herMedical Privacy Screens are put in place [ WatfordLondon ]

Watford High Street was closed as police carried an investigation after a pedestrian had gone under the wheels of a Large DAF Skip Lorry.

 

Herts police have confirmed that a woman in her 50s, has sadly died due to the collision just before 1.10pm today.

 

Her family are aware and are being supported by specially-trained officers. (Funeral)

 

Watford High Street has now been re-opened following this afternoon's fatal collision.

Police advise anyone travelling in the town area this evening to allow extra time for the traffic congestion.

one witness reportedly saw a large pool of blood and another saw a workman on the phone in tears.

The incident happened between the junction of Church Street and Market Street.

 

 

Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Police were called shortly before 1.10pm on Monday, March 12 to report a road traffic collision in High Street, Watford, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

 

 

Sergeant Martin Kemp, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, is appealing for witnesses to the incident.
