Barry Wyman wrote on Facebook: The ongoing building site that is the town centre is a disgrace along with access to a bus service that's been ripped to shreds....so when the local "worthys "come after my vote they'll be told in no uncertain term's to swivel.

 

Disability Watford will be holding a meeting at the town hall at 2pm on Thursday, March 15.

Residents are encouraged to speak up about any issues regarding disabled access in the town centre – particularly as it is currently undergoing major redevelopment.

 

The improvements being made to two stretches of the High Street.

Cllr Karen Collett, who is responsible for community at the council, said: “Improving the accessibility of Watford town centre is an absolute priority and is one of the main reasons we’re carrying out such major improvements to High Street.

The work is being carried out on behalf of Watford Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council by Murrill Construction Ltd. Intu Expansion with Debenhams being first to open, closely followed by Holly Wood Bowl and Cinemworld.

 

The works will be finished in time for the opening of the new intu extension.
