Clarendon Road New 12 Story Offices for TKMAXX TJX Europe headquarters Watford This office building will make way for the tower if the plans are approved

The council has granted planning approval for the development of high-quality new office space on Clarendon Road, which will host the new European headquarters of TJX Europe.

TJX Europe is the operator of the TK Maxx and Homesense retail chains.

TK Maxx appeared in a C4 Dispatches documentary about it's pricing and labelling con.

Despiteadvertising promising big labels and famous brands, many items sold in TK Maxx are actually own brand “private label”

Approval was granted for the iconic development of a 12-storey office building opposite Watford Junction station. This forms part of a creation of a campus for TJX UK, which can accommodate around 3,000 employees once complete.

The building has been designed by Sheppard Robson Architects.

The new building will include a basement car park for 100 cars and 210 bikes accessed from Verulam Passage.

Cllr Peter Jeffree, Chair of the Management Development Committee, said:

“This landmark building will greatly improve the site and surrounding area and invigorate the local economy. Attracting investment in high quality office space is a priority for the council and we are pleased that TJX Europe continues to lead the way in highlighting Watford as an excellent location for other employers.”

The projects form part of a 15-year scheme to transform the area and bring it into the 21st century.
